Breast Lift

Breast lift: Benefits and Methods

For well over a decade one of the most popular forms of cosmetic surgery in the United States has been breast augmentation. For women who were born with naturally small or overly large breasts or those whose breasts have been effected by childbirth, weight loss, or health conditions breast augmentation is an excellent way to restore their confidence and enhance their self-image. However often the desired youthful result cannot always achieved by breast augmentation alone. That is why Dr. Berman often pairs breast augmentation with another procedure: the breast lift.

The breast lift is designed to restore a younger, firmer, and more symmetrical shape to sagging breasts. A woman’s breasts often change over time, losing shape and skin elasticity. Giving birth, breastfeeding, or a significant weight change can all exacerbate the effects. Some patients have had drooping breasts since puberty. By removing excess skin and tightening the surrounding tissue, a breast lift surgery will raise the breasts and allow the breast profile to be reshaped and repositioned. Undesirably large or stretched areolas can also be reduced during the procedure, resulting in a better proportioned and natural looking breast. For those who require a minor lift, a small incision is made around the areola and a tiny amount of skin is removed. For moderate sagging, the incision includes the areolar incision and extends vertically from the areola to the breast crease. Lastly, for those needing a significant correction, the incision includes a third location along the breast crease. Scars with all techniques will occur but will fade as time passes.

According to the American Society for Plastic Surgeons, breast lift surgery has increased in popularity over 70 percent since the year 2000. The frequency of this operation over the years has created many new techniques, procedures, and devices that have contributed to the breast life being one of the safest, effective, and most popular cosmetic surgery options in the country. However choosing the right surgeon is still the most important decision you’ll make when electing to undergo cosmetic surgery.

Natural Breast Augmentation

Breast Augmentation: The Natural Look

Women are constantly analyzing one another, assessing, and comparing each other’s best attributes and worst flaws. Every woman wants to look their best in the eyes of their peers, and in the mirror. For many women, choosing cosmetic surgery is one of the ways to improve their self-image which boosts their self-esteem. This allows them to live their lives full of confidence. One of the most popular types of cosmetic surgery for well over a decade has been breast augmentation. As its popularity has risen, so has the number of poor examples of it. The most common complaint resulting from breast augmentation is that the patients’ breasts look “fake” or “done.” That is why today many, if not most women choose a more balanced and natural looking breast profile. One of the main advantages of opting for a natural breast augmentation is that it avoids the undesired counterfeit look and your scars will be beautifully concealed, virtually undetectable to the naked eye. After your breast augmentation recovery few people will know that you have had an augmentation – only those you wish to tell.
Choosing the Right Surgeon

If you are dissatisfied with your current breast shape, size, or symmetry, a natural breast augmentation procedure may be the solution for you. The biggest key in achieving one's desired results is choosing the right surgeon. After all, deciding to have plastic surgery is deciding to alter some part of your body and nobody wants a mistake to be made. Dr. Berman has performed thousands of cosmetic surgeries in his more than 20 years of experience in the South Florida area. Breast Augmentation Recovery

After your natural breast augmentation surgery, you will likely experience some degree of soreness and tightness during the first week of breast augmentation recovery as your breasts adjust to the implants. Icing and massages are suggested to decrease swelling, soften the breasts, and reduce scar tissue. Most women can return to work a few days after their surgery, though strenuous activities should be avoided for 6 to 8 weeks after the surgery.

Dr. Berman’s years of experience and dual board certifications allow him to customize every natural breast augmentation to your precise wants and needs. Rhinoplasty Recovery

Rhinoplasty Boca Raton: What to Expect During Your Nose Job Recovery
And what you can do to make your recovery go as quickly and comfortably as possible

While recovery from any surgery varies from person to person, the initial healing process that comes after a rhinoplasty procedure usually follows a fairly standard progression lasting roughly one to two weeks with some possible residual swelling persisting after that. Before your operation, Dr. Berman will provide you with comprehensive pre and post-surgery instructions. To schedule a consultation, call 561-417-0171. In the meantime, here is a brief rundown of the different rhinoplasty recoveryphases and a few quick tips that will help make your recuperation as pleasant as possible and ensure the quality of your results.

The Day of Surgery

After waking up from general anesthesia, you will feel a bit groggy but will be pleased to discover that you’re not, in fact, in any real pain. You may feel some slight discomfort due to the temporary swelling and bruising of the operated area, as well congestion associated with the protective nasal splint, and possibly nasal dressings, that have been put in place. You must have someone drive you home after the surgery and it is highly recommended you also have someone stay by your side for the first night and following day to tend to your needs. If you received nasal dressings, you will be given an appointment to see Dr. Berman the day after the surgery for them to be removed.  The most important things for you to do are rest and ICE, ICE, ICE your perinasal area.

First Week of Recovery

The initial few days of your recovery will be the worst as you may experience some nausea and the inability to breathe through your nose which often causes your throat to dry out and sleeping to become more difficult. Keeping your head elevated above your torso and icing the affected area will reduce swelling and nasal pressure. You will start to feel much better after your nasal packaging is removed either on post-operative day or one to two days after. At this point you should begin using saline nasal spray to keep blood from drying and forming an uncomfortable crust. Usually at the end of the first week your splint and any sutures you receive will also be removed allowing you your first glimpse at your freshly sculpted nose!

Second Week and Beyond

As the bruising and swelling subside, you can begin to return to your normal routine at about day 10 of your recovery, though you should avoid any particularly demanding physical tasks and contact sports for at least a few more weeks. The swelling and numbness at the tip of your nose will be the last to die down, but by the second or third week the only visible proof of your procedure should be a tiny suture line that will continue to fade from your marvelous new nose (if an open rhinoplasty is performed).

Other Rhinoplasty Options

If operative plastic surgery isn’t right for you or your schedule, Dr. Berman offers a non-surgical, injection rhinoplasty procedure. This comes with the added benefits of a shorter downtime and lower cost.

If you have had a previous nose job done and are unsatisfied with your nose’s functionality or aesthetics, revision rhinoplasty is one of Dr. Berman’s specialties.

If you are unhappy with the shape or functionality of your nose, rhinoplasty surgery can help you lead a more confident and comfortable life.
