Dysport vs. Botox

Botox and Dysport are both FDA-approved.  Recently Plastic Surgery Practice Magazine published an article about this:
1.   Dysport has a quicker onset of action.
2.  Dysport requires 3 units for every one of Botox to have equal effect.
3.  Longevity is similar----3-4 months
4.  Few if any side effects
5.  Cost is about the same
6.  "Newer is better?"

All in all, Dysport is a good product.  It does appear to have a quicker onset.   Both patient populations---Botox and Dysport are happy patient groups.  Like all other practices, Dysport has only a 6 month track record with us and the results are favorable.

Call us for fabulous friday pricing on the Dysport.

If you have any questions, please reply with your comments and I will be happy to address them in my next Blog entry.

REdo plastic surgery

Dateline did a good job presenting "Revision Plastic Surgery".   They interviewed two plastic surgeons---one in Southern California and one in Texas.  Both expressed that in these troubling economic times, a larger share of their patients were having secondary plastic surgery.   Not that they were unhappy with their original work but 5-10 years after the original surgery, the patients felt that they wanted to improve the way they looked.

Indeed in my practice, many patients who have had facelifts 8 to 12 years ago have come to the office to have another facelift.  Several women who have had breast enlargement years ago have had breast lift surgeries as well.

People want to feel good about themselves.   With all the worrisome economic news, people do want to look in the mirror every morning and get a sense of self satisfaction.  Whether it be in the form of facial rejuvenation surgeries or body improving procedures, all of us want to love the way you look.   Will keep you posted.
